77th Cannes Film Festival

The curtains of the 77th Cannes Film Festival have officially been closed.

Stars from all over the globe were gathered for the red carpet walk. Payal Kapadia’s directed ‘All We Imagine as Light’ was awarded with the grand prix during the edition of 77th Cannes Film Festival.

The film ‘All We Imagine as Light’ is an Indo-French production which represents the life of a nurse.  The director along with the cast Kani Kusruti, Chhaya Kadam and Divya Prabha can be seen wearing Indian Silk sarees, representing the Indian culture at the festival. The film got an eight-minute standing ovation at its debut which turned out to be the longest in the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Payal’s previous work, a documentary, ‘A Night of Knowing Nothing’ won the Golden Eye awars at the 77th Cannes Film Festival few years ago.

Along with many celebrities that made it to the 77th Cannes film festival including Kiara Advani, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Namita Thapar and many more, Nancy Tyagi made headlines walking at the Red carpet. Tyagi is a self-taught fashion designer and content creator. She wore self-stiched and designed gown for her debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Tyagi on a podcast with Ranveer Allahabadia, stated about the time when she contemplated about suicide. She also mentioned how bad her financial conditions were. She just wanted her mother to stay at home. She didn’t even want more money.

Netizens have been so proud about Indians making is to the Cannes and winning titles.
