After the border agreement between India and China and the withdrawal of troops from disputed points, new warmth is being felt in the relations between the two countries. On Thursday, on the occasion of Diwali, soldiers of India and China exchanged sweets at several border points on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). It is worth noting that a day earlier, the process of withdrawal of troops of both the countries from Demchok and Depsang areas, which have become a matter of confrontation between India and China, was completed.

According to reports, sweets were exchanged on the occasion of Diwali between Indian and Chinese soldiers at five Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) points on the LAC. Soldiers of both sides have completed the withdrawal of troops from two confrontation points Demchok and Depsang and patrolling will start at these points soon. However, after the withdrawal of troops, the verification process is going on and the modalities of patrolling are yet to be decided between the ground commanders. Reports say that talks will continue at the local commander level for now.

The border agreement between India and China was announced on 21 October. An agreement between India and China has been finalized after weeks of negotiations and will resolve issues raised in 2020. This was announced by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in Delhi on October 21. The agreement on patrolling and withdrawal of troops on the LAC in eastern Ladakh was finalized, which is a major success towards ending the four-year-long deadlock.
The Defense Minister said – the process of withdrawal of troops is almost complete:
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday that the process of withdrawal of troops by India and China on the LAC (Line of Actual Control) in eastern Ladakh is almost complete. He said, ‘The agreement includes rights related to patrolling and grazing in traditional areas. Based on this consensus, the withdrawal process is almost complete. We will try to move forward only with the withdrawal, but for this, we will have to wait a little more.’
