Indian and Chinese troops exchanged sweets on the occasion of Diwali at several border points located along Line of Actual Control (LAC). This heartwarming gesture came a day after both India and China completed the disengagement process at two points of conflict Demchok and Despang located in eastern Ladakh.
“Sweets exchange between members of the Indian and Chinese troops took place at several border points along the LAC on the occasion of Diwali,” as quoted by an army source to PTI.

Sources also revealed that this sweet exchange took place at about 5 border personnel meeting (BPM) points located along the LAC. The troops of both the sides are said to start patrolling soon after this disengagement process which included the withdrawal of troops and tents and any structure that was created temporarily by the troops.
This verification process proceeding with the disengagement was already in motion and the patrols modalities were to be decided by the ground commanders.
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping also organized a meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit earlier this year. Both parties agreed to the fact that India-China ties are very crucial for the people of both the countries and also for the peace stability of the world.
