Delhi Metro Station Opens a Pod Hotel for Exhausted Travelers
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has launched a new pod hotel at the New Delhi metro station to provide transit passengers with a comfortable resting place. The hotel is located near the New Delhi Metro Station. It gives transit passengers a chance to rest while waiting for their train and escape the city’s non-stop hustle at least for a while.
The DMRC official’s said that the hotel is spread over around 3,000 square meters and will have a few large rooms in addition to small pods. This hotel is going to be a great place for travelers who are on long trips or want to relax at the station for a while. The vendor has developed this pod hotel for exhausted passengers looking for overnight accommodation.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been working on multiple property development projects, such as retail outlets, entertainment zones, and office spaces at various metro stations. It helps to boost non-fare revenue. This hotel is also a part of DMRC’s strategy to transform metro stations into commercial hubs with various facilities. Numerous metro stations, such as Malviya Nagar, Punjabi Bagh, and Faridabad Sec 20B are also being transformed into commercial space.

Furthermore, Noida Electronic City has launched a banquet hall to expand the utility of the metro premises beyond transit services. The DMRC aims to further promote the metro for passengers by incorporating commercial spaces, amenities like hotels and transit services into the metro network. In this way, the metro becomes a self-contained system, which is maximally independent of the government, without any subsidies to run it.
The biggest advantage of Pod Hotel is that you can rent a room for a few hours or the whole night at a time, and the biggest thing is that there is no police hassle here. In recent times, the policy of unmarried couples sitting in the rooms and creating a ruckus in Oyo Hotel had upset many travelers. In the third place also, according to the new policies of Oyo, rooms will no longer be given to unmarried couples. But no such thing has been said in Pod Hotel.
