24 US Tanker Aircraft Sent Amid Iran-Israel Conflict

US Tanker Aircraft: According to flight tracking data, at least 24 KC-135 and KC-46 tanker aircraft have been sent eastwards till late Sunday night, and their number is constantly increasing.US Tanker Aircraft: Amid the ongoing war between Israel and Iran, the US Air Force has started the largest ever deployment of air refueling US tanker aircraft. These aircraft are being sent from US military bases across the Atlantic Ocean towards Europe.

According to flight tracking data, at least 24 KC-135 and KC-46 US tanker aircraft have been sent eastward till late Sunday night, and their number is constantly increasing.

America did not clarify the purpose of the deployment
The US Defense Ministry (Pentagon) has not yet given any official statement regarding the purpose of this deployment. However, there is already a system of mutual coordination among NATO allies for the quick deployment of necessary logistics and support aircraft in such a situation. Earlier, during the conflicts in Syria and Iraq, the US had supported the air campaign of its allies with the help of similar  US Tanker aircraft.

America is preparing for a long-term campaign!

The deployment of a large number of  US tanker aircraft towards the east indicates that the US military is preparing for a long-term campaign, especially if the tension in the Middle East increases further or NATO support is needed. It is difficult to say right now whether this deployment is being done only as a precaution or if there is a big military operation hidden behind it.

What are US tanker aircraft used for?

These US tanker aircraft are used to refuel fighter aircraft in the air, which participate in attacks far away from their country, such as the Israeli fighter jets currently attacking Iran, which need to be refueled several times in the air during the long journey.

This large deployment is being seen amid the ongoing confrontation between Iran and Israel. Missile and drone attacks are continuing between the two countries. According to reports, Israeli Air Force fighter jets have carried out precision attacks on Iranian military bases from long distances. For such operations, the aircraft needs to be refueled in the air, which increases its range.
