During the second match of T20Is India VS Zimbabwe, Abhishek Sharma scored a total of 100 runs in 46 balls and become the first player to score this much runs in just his second innings as an Indian player in this format. He hit seven fours and eight sixes in the match and becomes the fourth person to score 100 in T20Is with K L Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav.

He scored his 50 runs in 33 balls with many boundaries and sixes and chased the other 50 runs in the next 13 balls. This was not the first time where he performed well with the bat. He is also seen changing matches with the bat while playing in IPL under Sunrisers Hyderabad team. But this was probably his first time scoring such a century in the Indian Jersey.

India won the toss at the match and opted to bat first. The opening players, Abhishek Sharma and Shubhman Gill did not maintain a long partnership as Shubhman Gill falled early. Next on the line, Rituraj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma scored massive runs in their partnership. Abhishek alongwith Rituraj played aggressively and scored many boundaries. Both of their partnership went amazing and flourished Abhishek Sharma with his century. Abhishek’s aggressive batting stunned the Zimbabwe bowlers and made pressure on the team.

During the first match of India VS Zimbabwe, India lost by 13 runs which made a controversy among the netizens. People started trolling the players for scoring badly in their first match. A post on X (twitter) even said that “we just celebrated India’s big win in the ICC tournament. And now this loss. This loss just took away all the happiness. Rohit-Kohli please comeback.” Now in the second match of the series of India VS Zimbabwe, India won by a massive total of 100 runs. There will be 5 matches in this series. Current score is 1-1.
