For her second appearance at the met gala, Alia Bhatt stunned the fans and the fashion icons with her ‘Sabyasachi’ floral Saree which has been going global trends and talks now. The theme for the Met Gala event 2024 was ‘Garden of Time’.
Pictures of her look are going viral on the social media and fans are not getting enough of her look and her special moment of being on the Gala for the second time.
Describing about her looks, when alia was asked about her dress related to the theme, she said “the theme was ‘Garden Of Time’ which meant art and eternity. It is endless and timeless. In our culture, we acknowledge and preserve the things which are crafted with care and time, as they last forever. As it was my second time for the Gala, I opted for none other than ‘Sabyasachi Mukherjee’ for the look and I can say that the outfit took a life of its own. Nothing compares to the craftsmanship and innovations of Sabyasachi”
Her look contained of a 23-foot-long floral saree, which took the total effort of 163 dedicated craftsperson, artists, dyers, embroiders and masters. The look took a total of 1965 man-hours to create this ethereal saree. They focused on the 1920’s fringe style along with an elegant beadwork and heavy embroidery. The look paid homage to the earth, sky and the sea. She wore statement earrings, a maang tikka and opted for a messy bun with flowers to make her look, look more enhanced and amped up.
Netizens noticed her black maang tikka behind her ear and are commenting about how this is a desi way to ward off evil-eyes.

Fan’s reactions to her pictures and interview at the Gala are innumerous. Some went like “evil-eyes would need a binocular to find that maang tikka” where other wrote as “it’s their personal choice and I feel that there is nothing wrong with it”.
Totally pumped up with her daughter’s look, Soni Razdan (Alia’s mother) commented “Sabyasachi is an absolute genius, cannot even imagine how you created this look. The look is completely stunning and even that is an understatement…Truly a masterpiece which transformed Alia into a timeless princess”.
