Artificial Intelligence Trends: Focus on Enhancing AI Memory

The field of artificial intelligence (AI) is making rapid strides. Its major players, like Open-AI, Google, Meta, and Microsoft, are accelerating their AI strategies in the markets. Let us take a look at the important AI trends of the past fortnight.

Open-AI’s new coding agent:

Open-AI has launched a new AI coding agent called Codex, which can handle tasks such as writing code, debugging, and answering codebase-related queries. It is based on the Codex-1 model and is available to Pro, Team, and Enterprise users of ChatGPT. Codex aims to increase the productivity of developers and make coding processes more efficient.

Meta’s Behemoth model postponed:

The Meta platform has postponed the release of its advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) model “Behemoth”, which is part of the Llama AI suite. The release has been postponed so that improvements can be made to the model’s capabilities. This delay has led to a 2.4 percent drop in Meta’s stock and speculation of a leadership change in the company’s AI team.

Development of memory capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI):

Major AI companies such as Open-AI, Google, Meta, and Microsoft are focusing on developing memory capabilities in their AI systems. The aim is to increase user participation and make interactions more personal. For example, Open-AI’s ChatGPT and Meta’s chatbot can now remember past conversations, while Google’s Gemini can refer to users’ search history.

$20 billion investment in Artificial Intelligence (AI) humanoid robots:

China has begun using Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered human-like machines to revolutionise its industrial sector. Emerging companies such as government-backed Agibot and MagicLab are building robots capable of performing complex tasks such as assembly and inspection. The Chinese government has invested more than $20 billion in this sector. Google’s DeepMind has developed a new AI model, Gemini Robotics, optimized for robotics applications. This model is capable of understanding new situations and performing many tasks without training. The Gemini Robotics-ER version, which is based on Embedded Reasoning, has also been launched.

$10 billion cable project for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Meta has recently announced the ‘Waterworth Project’, under which a large-scale under-sea cable will be laid for $10 billion. This cable will connect India, America, Brazil, and South Africa. The main objective of this project is to smoothly handle the huge increase in AI and internet traffic. This project is especially important for India. This will accelerate cloud solutions in India. And as will become easier, the use of AI will be promoted and the country will be able to make a strong place at the global level in the digital economy.
