Chinese Woman Call Police After Fortune Telling Husband Affair
Chinese woman in eastern China accused her husband of infidelity purely on the basis of an online fortune telling session, prompting him to turn to the police to restore his reputation, according to a report by South China Morning Post.

This unusual incident came to public attention on October 22 when the Anhui Broadcasting Corporation reported that a couple, a resident of Wuhu in Anhui province, resolved a marital dispute after their wife sought advice from an online astrologer. Their personal information has not been made public.
According to a report by the astrologer, Chinese woman paid 500 yuan, approximately 70 US dollars, for the consultation. The astrologer told her, in a harsh tone, that her husband visited prostitutes and secretly stayed in hotels with other Chinese woman. In the absence of any supporting proff, she believed these claims because she had already paid the services.

Zhao Xingyu, a police officer at the Guandou Police Station under the Jiujiang branh of the Wuhu Public Security Bureau, explained the limits of her trust. Zhao said, “she spent 500 yuan to consult a so-called astrologer, who told her that her husband was having an affair with someone else. The astrologer asked for a free and had already paid , so she thought her predictions would be correct. Husband Says Cheating Claims Have Made His Life Unbearable
The Husband told officers that the fortune had made several vile claims, including that his wife was staying in a hotel with other Chinese woman. He said the situation was out of control. According to the investigator, he said “she has been calling this fortune continuously since morning. I told her I can not take it anymore. Life like this is absolutely unbearable.
Feeling unnecessarily targeted and extremely distressed, he request police help and arrested that her marriage had become difficult due to the baseless allegation.
Authorities Denounce Superstition, Step In To Mediate Dispute
The police advised the Chinese woman to trust facts instead of superstition and counseled both parties. The officers mediated the dispute and helped the victim defuse the situation and communicate in a more constructive manner.
