Crude Oil & Natural Gas Reserves Discovered in Ballia!

ONGC has started digging work after finding crude oil and natural gas reserves in Sagarpali of the Ganga Basin area in Ballia. ONGC has acquired 12 bighas of land from the family of freedom fighter Chittu Pandey in Vaina Gram Sabha of the Sagar area and is paying them Rs 10 lakh every year.

There is a strong possibility of finding crude oil reserves in the Ganga basin of the Sagarpali area in Ballia, UP. For this, ONGC has acquired the land of ‘Sher-e-Ballia’ Chittu Pandey, a freedom fighter from Ballia, from his family for three years and has also started digging. Vinay Pandey, the great-grandson of freedom fighter Chittu Pandey, says that about 12 bighas of his family’s land has been acquired by ONGC for three years. For this, Rs 10 lakh is being paid every year.

Crude oil and natural gas reserves in Ballia?

Currently, ONGC has started the digging work after the possibility of finding crude oil and natural gas reserves in Sagarpali of Ganga Basin area in Ballia. The entire setup has been installed on the spot. Big machines are visible from a distance. ONGC has acquired 12 bighas of land from the family members of freedom fighter Chittu Pandey in Vaina Gram Sabha of the Sagarpali area and is paying them Rs 10 lakh every year. The payment for the first year has also been made.

According to the information, ONGC will excavate 3000 meters on this land. Vinay Pandey says that about 6 months ago, ONGC contacted his family and said that reserves of crude oil and natural gas had been found in this area, and land was needed for its excavation. After this, a three-year contract was signed between the family and ONGC for the land.

At the same time, the villagers are very happy about the possibility of finding crude oil and natural gas. The village head of the place where the excavation is going on says that about 7 to 8 kilometers of this area is the area of the Ganga river, and we are very happy about the possibility of finding crude oil in this area. If oil/gas comes out, this area will develop, along with the development of the entire Ballia district.

It is being told that ONGC had conducted satellite, geochemical, gravitational-magnetic, and magneto-telluric (MT) surveys in the Ganga basin from Ballia to Prayagraj for three consecutive years. The survey report revealed large crude oil and gas reserves in the depths of the basin.
