FIR Filed Against Orry for Consuming Alcohol at Vaishno Devi
Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry sparked controversy after reports surfaced of him consuming alcohol at Vaishno Devi camp Katra. Under BNS section 223, an FIR has been registered against Orry and seven other people for violating local laws in Katra, Jammu. According to Law, liquor mafia, keeping, and stamping are strictly prohibited in Katra. Police gave this information on Monday. Katra is a town located near the Vaishno Devi temple. Hence, alcohol and non-vegetarian food are prohibited in Katra to maintain sanctity.
On March 15, a video of the Bollywood influencer Orry went viral on social media in which he was seen sharing a party with his friends in a private hotel. The general manager of the hotel also committed that Orry and the other people consumed alcohol at the hotel despite prior warnings about the area’s strict ban on alcohol. This incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media with many netizens demanding a ban on them in the city.

Rakesh Wazir, president of the Hotel and Restaurant Association in Katra said that Katra is a holy place, and people’s emotions are attached to it. The position of Katra is that alcohol is banned here. Even onion and garlic are not used in the vegetables to maintain the sanctity of the Mata Vaishno Devi. All these are strictly prohibited at such a divine place of Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage.
According to the agency, the group of seven other people including Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Anastasila Arzamaskina was also booked for violating local laws in Katra, Jammu.
