Fog in Delhi Morning: Air Quality Slumps to Very Poor
Air Quality Index in stations such as Chandni Chowk, Ashok Vihar, and Jahangirpuri crossed the 400 AQI mark, falling into the severe category. Fog in Delhi, the air quality slumped to the very poor on Sunday morning, with an overall Air Quality Index of 377 recorded at 7 am. Many places in the national capital recorded the Air Quality Index falling and severe and hazardous categories.
According to CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board), AQI in stations such as Chandni Chowk, Ashok Vihar, and Jahangirpuri has crossed the 400 AQI mark, falling into the severe category. On Saturday, out of 38 monitoring stations in the national capital, 26 recorded quality of air in the category of very poor, and fog in Delhi.
while the remaining stations are in the poor category. In the AIIMS and surrounding areas, the Air Quality Index was recorded at 421, while in Ashok Vihar, the Air Quality Index is 404, 414 in Chandi Chowk, and 4032 in Jahangirpuri.

Fog in Delhi: Anti-Pollution Measures
After Diwali, the air quality continues to worsen in Delhi. There are 13 main hotspots where pollution is very high; all hotspots are being extra-monitored the lack of road management and degraded infrastructure. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) the classification an Air Quality Index between 0 to 50 in considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 considered as ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 considered as ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 considered as ‘poor’, 301 to 400 considered as ‘very poor’ and 401 to 500 considered as ‘severe’.
The IMD (India Meteorological Department) has predicted shallow fog in Delhi for Sunday Morning, with the maximum temperatures likely to be around 31 degrees and minimum temperatures likely to be around 19 degrees Celsius, respectively.
