Indian Space Agency ISRO’s new satellites GSAT-20 and GSAT-2 were sent into space by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX. This launch was done with SpaceX’s rocket Falcon-9. In 34 minutes the satellite was delivered to its designated position. The satellite is completely healthy. The control is now in the hands of ISRO.
India’s most modern and complex communication satellite GSAT-N2 (old name GSAT-20) has been launched into space by SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket. The satellite is installed at its designated place. Now ISRO is controlling it. The launch took place from Cape Canaveral, Florida, and was the 396th flight of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket.
How will India Benefit from GSAT-20 and GSAT-2 satellites?
This satellite will strengthen broadband connection and in-flight connectivity in the country. This means that pilots will be able to establish better communication during flight. After the launch of this satellite, broadband internet will be able to reach remote areas of the country. The old name of GSAT-N2 is GSAT-20.
The Work will Continue for 14 Years:
This satellite will continue to work for the next 14 years. Its launch was requested by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL). This is a demand-based satellite mission. It is a Ka-band communication satellite. NSIL is the commercial wing of ISRO, which does private and government satellite launch deals for it.
It has 40 spot beams for Ka band high-throughput communication, which can transmit signals in a specific geographical area and provide internet service at a speed of 48 Gbps. Some of these are narrowband beams, which are for the north-eastern states. The remaining beams are for other parts of the country.

ISRO had demanded from SpaceX that no other satellite would go with this satellite. So that this satellite can be deployed in the right orbit at the right time. Then SpaceX specially used the Falcon-9B5 rocket for this work. The length of this rocket is 70 meters and its weight is 549 tonnes. This rocket can send satellites weighing up to 8400 kg to geosynchronous orbit and satellites weighing 22,800 kg to low earth orbit. just eight minutes later the Falcon 9 returned to its first stage after the launch.
As soon as the satellite was established in orbit 36 thousand kilometers above the Indian soil, ISRO’s Master Control Facility located at Hassan took control of it. Now in a few days this satellite will be fully operational. After this the country will start getting its services.
