High Alert!!! Covid-19 Cases Cross 6000 mark In India
According to the Ministry, India’s current active COVID-19 cases count has surpassed 6,000, with 769 new infections reported over the past 48 hours, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday. Kerala leads as the most efficient state, closely followed by Gujarat, West Bengal, and New Delhi.
Amid rising COVID-19 cases, the Central government is carrying out mock drills to assess preparedness at healthcare facilities and has directed all states to ensure the availability of oxygen, isolation beds, ventilators, and essential medicines, according to official sources.
According to the ministry, India currently has 6,133 active COVID-19 cases, with six additional deaths reported in the past 24 hours. Officials have stated that the majority of these COVID-19 cases are mild and are being treated at home.
Since the beginning of this year, a total of 65 deaths have been recorded across the country. As of May 22, there were a total of 257 active patients in the country.
A series of technical review meetings took place on June 2 and 3, led by Dr. Sunita Sharma, Director General of Health Services, to assess the COVID-19 cases situation and preparedness efforts. Participants included representatives from the Disaster Management Cell, Emergency Management Response Cell, National Centre for Disease Control, Indian Council of Medical Research, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, central government hospitals in Delhi, as well as officials from all states and Union Territories.

On June 4, official sources stated that state and district surveillance teams, under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, are keeping a close watch on COVID-19 cases of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI).
“As per the guidelines, testing is advised for all hospitalized SARI cases and 5% of ILI cases. The official further stated that positive SARI samples are subsequently forwarded for whole genome sequencing through the ICMR VRDL network.
Ministry advised to people for taking precaution, do regular health checkups, wash your hand carefully and always sanitized your self for stay safe.
