Tuesday: Hockey India revealed a new creativity, the National Women’s Hockey League for the year 2024–25, the first national hockey league for women in India, which is organized into two segments, with the inaugural segment set to take place in Ranchi, Jharkhand, April 30-May 9.
All the matches during this sports segment will be held at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium (MGJSAHS), where the recent FIH (Fédération Internationale de Hockey) Olympic Finalists and the Hockey India Women’s Asian Champions Trophy were be held in the tournaments.
The Tournament of National Women’s Hockey India League, which will promise a white-knuckle showcase of the talent and skills of women, aims to deliver a platform for emerging athletes and elevate the physique of women’s hockey in India. The league of the tournament will observe aggressive competition between the top state teams in India that will be finished in the top eight in a tournament at the marquee this is the 14th Hockey India Senior Women’s National Championships (HISWNC).

Following the conclusion of the tournament of the 14th Hockey Country India Senior Women’s National Championship, Hockey Team Maharashtra, Hockey Team Jharkhand, Hockey Team Mizoram, Hockey Team Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Team Haryana, Hockey Team Bengal, Manipur Team Hockey, and Hockey Team India Association of Odisha qualified as the eight state teams in Tournaments.
Especially, the Tournament League will also open its doors to young talent, with new players under the age of 21 suitable to participate in the League. This presence in the tournament of youth players highlights Hockey sport in India’s dedication to encouraging talent and promotion of development at the public level, Sports Hockey India Team informed in a release on Tuesday.
The National Women’s Hockey Indian League Tournament holds a massive promise that will not only inspire the standard of women’s hockey but also inspire the next generation of athletes across the Indian nation. Throughout this initiative, Hockey Sports India repeats its promise to promote gender equality in sports and will be creating ways for women to shine in hockey.
Moreover, the National Women’s Hockey League Tournament will be a dynamic scouting platform for the national Hockey team, if selectors with the opportunity to classify and raise the talent for future global competitions.
The Hockey President Dr. Dilip Tirkey expressed his interest in the Tournament league. “The National Women’s Hockey Tournament League marks a turning point moment for Sports of Indian hockey, especially for our women athletes. This league is evidence of our firm promise to the women’s sports and it will serve as a substance for the growth and the development of women’s hockey in the country.”
Hockey National Sports of Indian Typist General Bhola Nath Singh has added “We are super thrilled to introduce the Sports Tournament of the National Women’s Hockey League, which represents the important leap which will forward into our hard work to strengthen the women’s hockey at both the regional and into the national levels. This league will not only be providing the platform for exclusive competition but also it will encourage young girls of the nation to follow their passion for the sports Hockey.”
