Team India made their way to the champion’s trophy for the WCL (World Championship of Legends) 2024 by defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets. The final match was held in Edgbaston, Birmingham on Saturday, 13 July.
Match Summary-
Younis Khan, captain of the Pakistan team, won the toss and opted to bat first. The team made a good overall score of 156 runs with 6 wickets in 20 overs. In the second innings for the game, team India batters chased the total in just 19.1 overs and won the match by 5 wickets comfortably. Ambati Raydu scored 50 runs in just 30 balls and was the star of the show for India. Pakistan missed a few catches in the second innings which let Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan to make a partnership of 42 runs. Yusuf Pathan scored 30 runs in just 16 balls where Yuvraj Singh batted 15 runs in 22 balls.
India wanted 7 runs in just 10 balls when Yusuf Pathan got out by a catch from Shoaib Maqsood. However, Yusuf’s brother, Irfan Pathan shot a straight 6 on the first ball of the over and won the match in style.
