A nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, INS Arighat, for enhancing India’s nuclear triad and strategic deterrence, it was commissioned into the Indian Navy. INS Arighat, the second Arihant-class submarine, On Thursday at Visakhapatnam it was commissioned into the Indian Navy. Rajnath Singh Defence Minister of India expressed confidence that this submarine will future strengthen India’s nuclear threat, establish strategic peace and balance in reason, enhance nuclear intimation, and in the country’s security it plays a determinative role.

About INS Arighat’s:

Ballistic missile submarine nuclear-powered INS Arighat and it is a part of India’s closely guarded program, in 2009 this began with the launch of INS Arighat. INS Arighat construction involved advanced manufacturing technology, design, and extensive research and development. Indian scientists, industry, and naval personnel developed the submarine features indigenous system and equipment. Predecessor INS Arihant is technologically less advanced than the INS Arighat, and India’s strategic deterrence capabilities will be significantly boosted.

INS Arighat submarine is of 6,000 tonne and equipped with a K-15 nuclear ballistic missile, this missile has a range of 750 km, & it is ready to go for long-range patrolling in the Indo-Pacific region.
India’s third SSBN, INS Aridaman (S4) will soon join the INS Arighat, it is expected that INS Aridaman will be commissioned by next year, and it will be followed by a fourth SSBN, codename S-4*, said by sources.
For months the SSBN can remain underwater. On the other hand, diesel-electric attack submarines, or SSKs need to surface almost every other day to charger their batteries.
The DRDO, the Indian Navy, and the industry were praised by Rajnath Singh for their collaboration and hard work in achieving this milestone. Along with economic prosperity he stressed on the importance of military strength.
