Sanju Samson Fine IPL 2025: In the Indian Premier League IPL 2025, a match was held between the Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals on 9 April. Gujarat won by 58 runs. Actually, Sanju Samson has been fined by his team for maintaining a slow over-rate during match number 23 of IPL 2025 against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This was his team’s second offence this season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. This article deals with minimum over-rate offences, so Samson was fined Rs 24 lakh.

The special thing is that not only Sanju suffered a loss due to this, but the rest of the members of the playing eleven, including the impact player, will be fined either Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent of their respective match fees (whichever is less). Under the IPL’s code of conduct related to minimum over rate, if the captain of a team commits the first offence, he is fined Rs 12 lakh. If the captain commits the offence of slow over-rate for the second time in an IPL 2025 season, a fine of Rs 24 lakh is imposed. If any captain repeats such an offence, his demerit points will be deducted.

Gujarat won the 23rd match of the IPL 2025, played at Narendra Modi Stadium, by 58 runs. In this match, Sai Sudarshan played a fiery inning of 82 runs in 53 balls for Gujarat. Sudarshan’s innings included 3 sixes and 8 fours.

Thus, Gujarat scored 217 runs. Rajasthan, who came out to chase the runs, could not play the full overs and were all out at 159 in 19.2 overs. For Rajasthan, apart from Shimron Hetmyer (52), Sanju Samson (41), and Riyan Parag (26), no batsman could cross the single-digit mark. With the win in this match, Gujarat is at the top of the points table with 4 wins and 1 loss in 5 matches. Rajasthan is now in seventh position with 2 wins and 3 losses in 5 matches.
