After the team guarded their win at the ICC T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20 format of International cricket, followed by Rohit Sharma.
The day after the win, Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from the T20 format of International cricket as well through an Instagram post.
Ravindra Jadeja:
Ravindra Jadeja played his first match in 2009 against Sri Lanka in T20 International Cricket format. He has played a total of 74 matches till now which include a pile of 515 runs in his career and a sum of 54 wickets with a fair economy rate of 7.13. Jadeja, the all-rounder was not in his best form in the whole season but he is still the best all-rounder of all times in his age of 36 years. In yesterday’s match at Barbados, India beat South Africa with a score of 7 runs and won their second title.
Ravindra Jadeja’s Retirement Post:
“With lot of gratitude, I bid a farewell to T20 international. I have always given my best to the country and I shall continue to do the same in other formats as well. Winning the World Cup T20 was like a dream which came true. Thank you for the support and all the memories.” Jadeja wrote this post on Sunday 30th June.
Jadeja will continue to play the ODIs and the test matches.

Earlier, just after India won the match, Virat Kohli announced that it was his last T20 International match. And it is time for the new generation to take over. Followed by Rohit Sharma, who called his time on his career in the press-conference. Rohit signed off by saying “maybe I was meant to win this T20 world cup at the end just like my career. I started in 2007 with a trophy, now ending with a trophy.”

After Jadeja shared his post, about his retirement from T20 format of International cricket. PM Modi shared his brief in accordance with Jadeja. He shared a post on X (twitter) which said “Dear Ravindra Jadeja, you performed really well as an all-rounder. The lovers and fans of cricket will always admire your fielding, spins and stroke plays. Thank you for the excellent performances. My best wishes for your future ahead.”
