Mahindra has finally launched the much-awaited Mahindra Thar Rocks or the 5-door version of the Thar off-roader. The Mahindra Thar Rocks start at Rs 12.99 lakh for the base petrol manual and Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base diesel manual.

Booking for Mahindra Thar Rocks will start on October 3. The company has announced that the delivery of this SUV will begin from Dussehra. Test drives for Thar Rocks will start on September 14.
2 Engine Power
The Mahindra Thar Rocks SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel motor that generates 148 bhp and 330 Nm of torque on the base MX1 trim. The MX1 petrol draws power from a 2.0-litre turbo petrol that produces 158 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. Both are paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mahindra has not yet revealed the engine specifications of the mid and top variants. Which will be more powerful and will also have automatic and 4×4 options.
3 How is the look and design
Mahindra Thar Rocks retains the core DNA of the Thar family. But it gets different special changes including a new six-slat grille, round LED headlights with C-shaped DRLs, and fog lights integrated into the bumper. Like the Thar 3-door version, the indicators integrates into the front fender. While the 5-door model now gets new alloy wheels

The Thar Rocks has a longer wheelbase that gives it a more imposing presence on the road and an extra set of doors. Another striking feature is its angular C-pillar and triangular rear quarter glass. At the rear, the Thar Rocks has rectangular taillights, which finds its three-door model, with ‘Thar’ branding in the middle. Other cycle parts including door handles, rearview mirrors, etc.
