Paris Olympics 2024 : India Gleam with Six Olympics Medals

At the Paris Olympics 2024, held from 26 July to 11 August 2024, India made a mark by securing six Olympic medals as well as one silver and five bronze medals. The star performers Manu Bhaker, Swapnil Kusale, Aman Sehrawat, Neeraj Chopra, Sarabjot Singh, and the Indian hockey team came up with India’s medal haul, providing India a reason to celebrate.

Manu Bhaker Becomes First Indian Woman to Secure Olympics Medals

Shooter Manu Bhaker makes history by achieving third place in the women’s individual 10m air pistol event. Manu Bhaker becomes the first Indian women shooter to secure Olympic medals, in a single edition of the Games. Manu Bhaker coupled with Sarabjot Singh secured her 2nd bronze in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event. Manu Bhaker has already made a mark by achieving gold medals from the World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and Youth Olympic Games.

At the Paris Olympics 2024, the overall performance of India was creditable. Swapnil Kusale accords with a bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event. The Indian men’s hockey team achieves consecutively bronze medals for the first time in 52 years, defeating Spain 2-1.

Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has brought home silver Olympic medals with a throw of 89.45m, narrowly missing the gold. Wrestler Aman Sehrawat clinched a bronze medal with a 13-5 victory over Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz. Neeraj Chopra is now the second male athlete post-independence to achieve two Olympic medals in an individual event. His performance was also very impressive.
