What is a SIM Card Swapping Scam?
If the SIM is lost or broken, there is a need to get the SIM swapped. A new SIM has to be purchased in place of the old SIM. After getting the new SIM, the number is available there. The fraudsters assure the company over the phone that the number is theirs. They carry out this game through Aadhar card details. Then the old SIM is switched off and the new SIM is activated and all OTPs go to the same number. Fraudsters use that SIM until the account is empty.
