Williams, 58, is the pilot for the mission whereas Wilmore, 61, is the commander for the mission. In 2012, Sunita Williams became the first person to finish triathlon in space. This was after she ran Boston Marathon from space in 2007. Sunita Williams has been selected as an astronaut in 1988 by NASA. She has served as Flight engineer and Flight Commander in the age of 32 and 33 respectively. She has spent 322 days across her missions. Sunita Williams is a veteran of two of the shuttle missions.
Williams and Wilmore will conduct a series of flight test objectives which will include manually flying the Star-liner. It is an historic achievement for Sunita and Butch. If this mission and testing goes successful, Star-liner would be made the second private spacecraft. The first one is the SpaceX’s Crew Dragon which transports astronauts from orbiting laboratory.
