Announcement of Border 2 by Sunny Deol
Mumbai: Director J P Dutta’s cult classic ‘Border’ completed 27 years on Thursday, and actor Sunny Deol gave fans a big surprise by announcing a sequel, ‘Border 2’. He shared the news on Instagram with an announcement video.
In the video, Sunny Deol says, “27 years ago, a soldier made a promise to return.” He is coming to fulfill that promise and salute the soil of India.”
Sharing the video, he wrote, “A soldier is coming back to fulfill a 27-year-old promise. India’s biggest war film, #Border2, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, will be directed by Anurag Singh.”

Bollywood Industry Reactions After Border 2 film Announcement
As soon as he shared this exciting news, fans and industry members filled the comment section with their reactions. Sunny Deol’s sister Esha Deol reacted with an evil eye emoji. One user wrote, “Wow, eagerly waiting, sir.” Another commented, “Wow, It’s a Great Announcement.” Someone else said, “Woooohoooooo cannot wait.”
On Wednesday, Sunny Deol teased the announcement with a video of himself, captioned, “Exciting news coming tomorrow, can you guess what it is?!”
‘Border 2’ is composed by Nidhi Dutta and created by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. It will be directed by Anurag Singh. The story is reportedly set in the same context as the Battle of Longewala, and filming is expected to start in October this year.
