Tamil Nadu Train Accident:

After the Tamil Nadu train accident, Southern Railway set up a helpline desk and issued numbers for different stations to obtain information. 19 people have been injured in the accident. Three of them are admitted to the ICU.

Two trains were cancelled after this accident in Trivallur in Tamil Nadu train accident happened between Ponneri-Kavarappettai railway station (46 km from Chennai) of Chennai division. After the accident, repair work is done on the railway track. Here on Friday evening, the Mysore-Darbhanga Express went to the loop line instead of going on the main line and collided with a goods train standing there. After the collision, 12-13 coaches of Darbhanga Express derailed. There is no news of any casualty in the accident, while 19 people were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. Three of these passengers are admitted to ICU.

These trains were cancelled:

Southern Railway posted on Twitter that due to the accident of train number 12578 Mysuru-Dharbhanga Bagmati Express at Kavaraipettai in Chennai Division on 11 October 2024 at around 20.30 hrs, train services have been changed. Train number 12077 Dr MGR Chennai Central-Vijayawada Dr MGR Chennai Central Jan Shatabdi Express leaving on 12 October 2024 at 15.30 hrs is completely cancelled.

Change of route of these trains:

12641 Kanyakumari-Nizamuddin Tirukkural Express, scheduled to leave on 11 October at 19.10 hrs, has been diverted to run via Chennai Central, Arakkonam and Renigunta. Train No. 16093 Dr MGR Chennai Central-Lucknow Junction Express, scheduled to leave on 12 October at 05.15 hrs, will run via a diverted route via Arkkanom, Renigunta and Gudur, skipping stoppage at Sullurepeta and Naidupeta. Train No. 12611 Dr MGR Chennai Central-Nizamuddin Garibrath Express, scheduled to leave on 12 October at 06.00 hrs, will run via a diverted route via Arakkonam, Renigunta and Gudur. The train scheduled to leave on 10 October 2024 at 23.55 hrs, will run via Gudur, Renigunta, Arakkonam via Dr MGR Chennai Central. Train No. 12655 Ahemdabad-Dr. MGR  Chennai Navjeevan Express Departed from Ahmedabad on 10 October at 21.25 hrs. It will run via Gudur, Renigunta, Arakkonam via Dr MGR Chennai Central. This train will not stop at Sullurupeta. Train No. 22644 Patna-Ernakulam  Express Departed from Patna On 10 October 2024 at 14.00 hrs and will run via Gudur, Renigunta and Melpakkam. This train will not stop at Perambur.
