Introduction to New Tata Altroz Racer

Tata Motors has introduced the new Altroz Racer in India, with prices starting at ₹9.49 lakh and going up to ₹10.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). This new version of the Altroz turbo petrol is designed for better performance and comes with sporty visual enhancements to increase its appeal.

Interested buyers can book the car for a token amount of ₹21,000. Additionally, Tata has upgraded some variants of the standard Altroz with new features.

 Altroz Racer Key Features

The key highlight of th car is its 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, borrowed from the Tata Nexon. This engine delivers 118 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque and is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. There is no automatic transmission option. Tata also mentions that the Racer model has a sportier exhaust sound compared to the standard variants.

The Tata Altroz Racer features several visual upgrades, including a blacked-out bonnet and roof, creating a dual-tone paint scheme. The car has twin white stripes running across the bonnet, roof, and boot, along with a ‘Racer’ badge on the fender and new alloy wheels to enhance its sporty look.

The car is available in three dual-tone colors: Atomic Orange, Avenue White, and Pure Grey.

Inside, the cabin has a blacked-out theme with orange accents, black leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching, and twin stripes. While the dashboard remains the same, the model includes features like an electric sunroof, a digital instrument console, ventilated front seats, cruise control, and a 360-degree camera.

Altroz Racer Competition with Hyundai i20

The car will mainly compete with the Hyundai i20 N Line in its segment. It offers a more affordable entry-level trim priced about ₹50,000 less than the i20 N Line, which ranges from ₹10 lakh to ₹12.52 lakh (ex-showroom).
