The Surgical Strike: How Did the Indian Army Take Revenge From the Terrorists

The Surgical Strike

Today is an important day for India. Eight years ago today, on September 29, the Indian Army performed such a courageous feat, which every child of India will remember for centuries to come. On this day, the soldiers responded to the audacity of the terrorists by crossing the border and the people of India came to know about the surgical strike for the first time.

On the night of 29 September 2016, the brave sons of India risked their lives crossed the border, and avenged the audacious attack on Uri. The Special Forces of the Indian Army had destroyed the terrorist camp present there and the terrorists hiding inside it. At that time, the festival of Navratri was going on in the entire country and on such an occasion the Indian Army demonstrated its power.

Indian Army soldiers had penetrated 3 kilometers inside Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). After reaching there they destroyed the terrorists’ camp. Then the sleeping terrorists were put to sleep forever. Whoever dared to take up arms was given a gruesome death by the Indian Army soldiers. It is said that the entire mission was the responsibility of only 25 commandos. At the same time, about 150 commandos were staying near the LOC for additional support. If there was a retaliatory attack on them, the commandos deployed in a backup would also have given a strong response.

The surgical strike action was a response to the nefarious attack that terrorists had carried out in Uri ten days ago. On September 18, 2016, four terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed had reached the Indian Army camp in Uri and secretly attacked the administrative station here. 19 soldiers of the Indian Army were martyred in this attack. After this, the special forces present there killed the terrorists in the encounter. Later news came that the Pakistani Army was involved in this attack. It was he who helped the terrorists.

The Uri incident shocked the entire country. The blood of the people of India was boiling. The country wanted answers to this. At the same time, Pakistan was not ready to accept that its patron terrorists had committed this dastardly act. After this, both the Indian government and the army started preparations to give a befitting reply to the terrorists and their Pakistani masters.  A major preparation was made before carrying out the surgical strike on 29 September. Why was India going to take such a historic step for the first time, when terrorists crossing the border would be killed right in front of their haven?
