Upcoming Launch of the CNG Scooter by TVS in May 2025
The wait is over The New Year will be more exciting, as TVS is set to launch the scooter in May 2025. It is the world’s first CNG-powered scooter that was unveiled in the concept of the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. It is a scooter that runs on compressed natural gas. In this scooter, both the CNG tank and fuel tank are available to store the 1.4 kg CNG gas and 2-liter petrol.
Governments give some information to relate to the offer of incentives for using eco-friendly vehicles, such as tax breaks or subsidies, which can make CNG-powered scooters more attractive. One of the main reasons for the growing popularity of CNG scooters is the footprint of personal transportation. The government around the world, especially in countries like India promotes CNG vehicles.
The adoption of the scooters might face some resistance due to the higher initial cost of the scooter and we need to install a CNG kit. The convenience of refueling might not be as seamless as petrol stations. The mileage of a scooter to run 84 km/kg can go up to the top speed of 80.5 km/h.
In TVS brand claims to the customer that it will offer a combined range of 226 km. The price of scooters will start to be around 1.00 lakh, which includes the on-road tax. This engine gives a 124.8cc single-cylinder to generate 7.2 PS at 6,000 rpm and 9.4 Nm at 5,500 rpm, with a maximum speed. The tank is nearly covered with a plastic panel, with an eyelet for the pressure gauge and a filler nozzle for refueling.
