Water Crisis In Bengaluru | Requirements To Be Fulfilled Till June

People of Bengaluru confess that there is a severe Deficit of potable or drinking water in the city and they are suffering from the water crisis. There is a 500 MLD (million liters per day) short supply of water which is around 20% of it said CM Siddaramaiah.

They said that to fulfill daily needs the city requires about 2600 MLD water daily. About 1450 MLD is already supplied by Borewells yielding another  650 MLD. After this also they are facing a 500 MLD shortage daily at current. The CM of Bengaluru reduces the fear of low-level water in dams. The government has stored enough water in the Cauvery & Kabini lakes so that at a time of water crisis they can fulfill the needs. The storage fulfills the needs till June. The problem of the water crisis will be resolved.

Experts’ Guidance on Securities

The CM of Bengaluru Siddaramaiah also said that the government shall conduct a committee of experts to make a plan to protect the Bengaluru people from the water crisis.

They have also directed the parastatal bodies to fill up all the lakes of the city in such a way we are filling parched lakes in Chikkaballapur and Kolar with purified water. To begin with, 14 tanks are to be filled with purified water so that the level of the groundwater table should be maintained.

Dealing with the Water Crisis

There are many long-term systematic issues, like uncontrolled constructions, continuous destruction of lakes or water reserves, and blocking of natural underground water flow, that extremely affect the availability of water in Bengaluru. But these do not seem to be the permanent solution of an ongoing event. One should pay attention to the seasonal fluctuations in rainfall so that the government can deal with these types of variabilities.

He said that the focus is on the Bengaluru conditions (water crisis)  the main urban center with a crucial international impression it was noticed that the rural part of the state was facing a greater shortage of water than of urban. Thurs India still has not built any alternative to deal with the multiple years of droughts which may become a big problem in the future for the whole nation.

After the study and analysis of the 800-year data. They have found that the chances of 2 to 4 years of drought were very low, but on the other hand on the state level, it is a little high.
