Solar eclipse is when moon comes in center of sun and earth but not completely so a ring of fire is visible around the edges. As per Hindu religion, solar eclipse hold a significant importance.
There are four types of solar eclipse:
- Total solar eclipse: When moon comes totally in front of sun.
- Partial solar eclipse: When the moon is liitle bit out and is not fully in front of sun.
- Annual solar eclipse: The moon comes in front of the sun but not entirely so a ring of fire is visible around the moon.
- Hybrid solar eclipse: this solar eclipse occurs very rarely when the shadow of the moon move across the earth. It is a combination of both annual eclipse and total eclipse.
The second solar eclipse of 2024 will occur on 2nd October, which comes simultaneously with Amavasya, 15 days after lunar eclipse. It begins with a phase which is 12 hours before the solar eclipse, and that phase is called as sutak Kaal, when solar eclipse occur that time is considered as unfavorable. So, during this time, people pray to god and all religious activities are stopped, people should avoid going outdoor due to unfavorable event. People should not see the sun directly through their eyes, people should use safe solar viewer in place of sunglasses. So, proper eye protection should be taken.
The solar eclipse will start from 9:13 pm on 2nd October and will end at 3:17 am on 3rd October. As it is taking place at night, so it will not be visible in India. The upcoming solar eclipse will be a partial solar eclipse and will be on 12th June,2029 and 5th December,2029 in the next lunar set. Some places the solar eclipse will be visible in parts. Some of them are: Chile, Argentina. Some places where the solar eclipse will visible in all. Some of them are: New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Antarctica, Hawaii, Cook Islands.
The impact of solar eclipse is not same in all places at some places it is seen in parts and somewhere in whole.
