Ahead of the match, Rohit Sharma mentioned “it is really hard for me to select one from Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul for the batter-wicketkeeper position. Both of them have got us winning matches. For me, it is nice to have such ‘problems’ in selecting players as this describes how many good players we have in the team.”

The choice is not only for Rishabh VS Rahul but also for Riyan Parag and Shivam Dube also. The decision has to be made very precisely about whom to choose for the 1st ODI series. As for a conclusion, Rohit Sharma mentioned that he will be leaving this decision for the coach to decide. Everyone would get to know the playing XI when the match begins.

Player review of India:

While Rishabh Pant’s absence due to his car accident, KL Rahul handled the responsibility for the fifty-overs. Now, with his return, the team has 2 wicketkeepers and both are very much suitable. Indian team needs to pick one for the playing XI.
Not only in wicket keeping, KL Rahul has always amazed us with his amazing performance in scoring runs with the bats. He has a total of 1355 runs with 2 hundreds and ten fifties. With an average of 58.9. He also has 48 dismissals from behind the stumps.
Meanwhile, Pant has made a run score of 336 in 12 games. This makes it tough for Indian team to select one.

Predicted Playing XI for the Indian team:

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubhman Gill, KL Rahul/Rishab Pant, Riyan Parag/Shivam Dube, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Khaleel Ahmed/Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj.
