Skyroot Aerospace’s Victory: Kalam-250 Test Propels Satellite Launch

Kalam-250

India’s space start-up Skyroot Aerospace has achieved a major milestone. Skyroot has test-fired Stage-2 of Vikram-1 rocket. It is being told about this rocket that it will place a satellite in the Earth’s orbit at the end of the year. Stage 2 of Vikram-1 has been named Kalam-250. Let us know about it and its special things.

According to the company, Kalam-250 is a test fire.

Kalam-250 is a high-powered carbon composite motor that will propel the rocket inside the spacecraft outside the Earth’s atmosphere. This was done on ISRO’s Propulsion Test Bed located at Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sri Hari Kota, Andhra Pradesh. It achieved sea level thrust of 186 kg newtons in just 85 seconds. This test was done only after 85 seconds. If this thrust is measured in air, it will be 235 kg Newton. This means that the company has done the Vacuum thrust test of 235 kg Newton in Kalam-250.

This test is considered very special for the progress in India’s space sector. Cookie: This is the country’s first carbon composite motor which has been tested in ISRO. It has been designed and built by the private sector. This is the largest propulsion system. It has been developed by Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace. Pawan Chandana, Co-Founder and CEO of Skyroot Aerospace, while talking about the success of the company, has also given importance to the success of Taste Fire.

He said that the test parameter is within the limited bonds and this success takes them one step closer to the launch of Vikram-1 rocket. The Kalam-250 is a high-strength carbon composite motor that uses a solid fuel or a high-performance ethylene–propylene–dynetar polymer (EPDM) thermal protection system (TPS). Stage 2 has a carbon flex nozzle with a precision electro-mechanical actuator. These control the thrust vector of the vehicle, with the help of which the rocket can reach the desired trajectory. The establishment, encompassing a vast 60,000 square feet built-up area, with aspirations for expansion shortly, is conceptualized and constructed with a futuristic celestial theme, embodying the ethos of Skyroot to democratize access to space for the swift advancement of humanity.
