Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak express accident:
Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Express derailed in Assam. Eight coaches, including the engine, were derailed on Thursday at 3.55 pm. No one was hurt in this accident, and all the passengers were brought out of the train safely. According to PTI, the CPRO of the Northeast Frontier Railway zone said, “Eight coaches of the train, including the power car and the engine, derailed. No major injuries have been reported in the incident.

Railway Statement:
Railway officials said that the Accident Relief Train and Accident Relief Medical Train had already left Lumding for the site of the incident along with senior officials of the division to monitor rescue and restoration operations. Train operations on the Lumding-Badarpur single-line section have also been suspended due to the incident.
The railways have also issued helpline numbers in Lumding – 03674 263120, 03674 263126. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the state government was coordinating with the railways regarding the incident. The incident comes a week after 12 coaches of a long-distance express train derailed after colliding with a stationary freight train at Kavarapettai in Tamil Nadu on October 11. There were no reports of casualties or life-threatening injuries.
The accident occurred around 8.30 pm, soon after the 12578 Bagmati Express train from Mysore in Karnataka to Darbhanga in Bihar crossed Ponneri station. Railway officials had said that the train appeared to have entered the loop line where the freight Service was standing there.
