The Picture of Mars:
As more pictures of Mars are coming out, many types of mysterious shapes are being seen. It is not surprising to see many types of shapes, because the winds blowing on Mars are a factor in changing the terrain there. But the shape of many of those shapes definitely surprises. But this time it is not the shape but the color that is surprising. NASA’s Perseverance rover has sent a picture of the Serpentine Rapids region of Mars in which the presence of green has created a stir.
Where is this picture from?
After examining the area called “Bright Angel” and taking samples of the unique “leopard spots” present there, the Perseverance rover traveled south across the Neretva Vallis. It was here that he discovered this area called “Serpentine Rapids”. Here Perseverance found vibrant red rocks, in which this unexpected discovery further deepened the curiosity of the rover team.
Meaning of green on Earth:
Every color in the pictures of rocks taken from space on Earth is a sign of the presence of life. This color comes due to organic matter. This is why seeing green color in the picture of any area of Mars will create curiosity. Interestingly, scientists are not sure why this green color is visible on Mars, that it is not due to some organic matter.
Reason not known!
Only after investigating this, scientists will be able to reach a conclusion and explain the reason for the green color appearing in the picture of Mars. This green color was particularly attractive, in which a dark core surrounded by a light green rim was visible. For one, it is famous as a sign of the existence of life and has been seen unusually on Mars.

The green color also appears on Earth due to chemical reasons:
On Earth, similar green spots are often seen in ancient “red beds” and are usually formed by chemical reactions where water, carrying iron, seeps through layers of rock and turns the oxidized iron into a green state.
Why are these colors mysterious?
The rover’s SHERLOC and PIXL instruments are designed for detailed compositional analysis. However, the problem is that due to the limitations of the terrain, it could not be placed precisely over the green spots. As a result, the exact composition of the green substance remains a mystery, sparking curiosity among scientists eager to unravel the mysteries of Mars.
Perseverance and Jezero Crater:
The Perseverance rover landed on Mars’ Jezero Crater just two years ago. During this time, the rover has been climbing rapidly up the crater. So now science and engineering teams are tackling the incredibly steep slopes of the region. There is no shortage of wonder and excitement among the team as we wonder what mysteries might lie hidden in the ancient rocks of the Jezero Crater rim, and as Perseverance climbs the steep rim of Jezero Crater, the science team is eagerly anticipating what surprises might lie ahead.
The Martian landscape is very interesting to scientists. They believe there must have been water on Mars at some point. So if there was any kind of microbial life, at least signs of it should still exist somewhere today. They also think some kind of life may still exist in the water beneath the surface of Mars. Perseverance’s goal is to find answers to these questions.
