This is the first time that an official report has come out about the disappearance of such a large number of tigers in a year. Earlier, between January 2019 and January 2022, 13 tigers were reported missing from Ranthambore National Park.
Out of 75 tigers in Rajasthan’s Ranthambore National Park, 25 tigers have gone missing in the last one year. This information was given to the park officials by Rajasthan’s Chief Wildlife Warden Pawan Kumar Upadhyay on Monday. This is the first time that such a large number of tigers have gone missing in a year. An official report of the missing tigers has come out.

mmittee was Formed to Investigate the Missing Tigers:
A committee has been formed to investigate the tigers of Rajasthan Rantambore National Park. On Monday, the wildlife department constituted a three-member committee investigating the missing tigers. The committee will review the monitoring records and recommend action if any lapses are found on the part of park officials. Officials said that at present the main focus is on the 14 tigers that disappeared between May 17 and September 30 and have not been traced yet.

Chief Wildlife Warden Pawan Kumar Upadhyay said the committee will submit its report within two months. We have identified some monitoring lapses which we want to correct. Recently I started collecting weekly monitoring reports, which revealed that these tigers were not recorded on trap cameras. This matter is being investigated very seriously.
According to a study conducted by the Wildlife Institute of India (2006-2014), the park can only accommodate about 40 adult tigers.
