India’s First Medal at the Paris Olympics | Manu Bhaker Shines

Manu Bhaker from India made history because she is the only Indian woman shooter who has won an Olympic medal. India has been waiting for this medal for 12 years. Manu Bhaker took home a bronze in air shooting. Three years ago, she returned to India without a medal in the Olympics. At that time, Manu Bhaker became nervous. At that time, she thinks that shooting is boring and she is not able to do shooting anymore. She does not want to do shooting and wants to go for higher studies abroad. Her desire to get a medal in the Olympics becomes dull. But she did not give up anymore. After that, she did very hard work. Today, Manu Bhaker won the first Olympic medal for India in shooting. Jaspal Rana is her coach, who motivates her very much, and he gives her courage, due to which she won a medal for India in the Olympics.

Before entering into the game, Manu Bhaker said in the interview that the first six months of 2022 and 2023 will be like a job from 9 to 5. Manu Bhaker started feeling bored and unmotivated while practicing shooting. She knew she was in a team, but she wanted to go abroad for higher studies. 

Manu Bhaker & Her Achievements:

She started taking an interest in learning the violin. Manu Bhaker also started learning the tunes of the Indian National Anthem. Manu Baker was from Jhajjar, Haryana. Boxers and wrestlers are well-known in the state of Haryana. She was really interested in sports when she was in school. Manu Bhaker has prior skating and tennis experience. She has also done martial arts. When she came at the age of 14 years, she wanted to do air shooting just after the Rio Olympics 2016. After the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she had achieved junior world champion in women’s air pistol shooting. She was lucky that she won 25 a silver medal at the 2022 Cairo World Championship, and she won a gold medal at the 25m pistol shooting in the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
