Rohit and Virat Know Their Future: After IND vs AUS ODI

Ravi Shastri clearly mentioned what Rohit and Virat have to do if they are playing the World Cup 2027 in South Africa. Former India team coach Ravi Shastri has reached a decision regarding the Rohit and Virat future and explained that by the end of the ODI series against Australia, they will know what to do next.

Rohit and Virat’s future is the topic of discussion. In May, they announced their retirement from Test Cricket. Rohit and Virat have yet to play any form of professional cricket, and while a lot has been said about the chance of being part of the India 2027 World Cup squad. Ravi Shastri’s statement is along similar lines. Rohit will be 40 and a half by the time it comes, whereas Kohli would turn during the tournament, about 39 years. However, more important is that the lack of match practice promises the Ro-Ko hurdle the biggest.

When Steve Smith announced his retirement from the ODI tournament the Australia defeated India in the semi-final match in the Champions Trophy. The decision came as a surprise to many, but Ravi Shastri understands where it came from and insists that the same conditions apply to Rohit and Virat.
