First, we have to know what social media is. Now, where the social word comes from, it comes from the Latin word “socius”, which means companion or friend. Social means connecting or interacting with people and knowing about different people’s points of view through communication.

It means sharing information, news, entertainment, or messages with people and also on communication platforms. And in 2004, Facebook was converted into the largest social media platform. Twitter & Instagram came after that in 2006 and 2010.

  4. Privacy and Security RiskToo many people don’t know about anything, so they post personal information like their photos, location, without thinking that leads to hacking, scams, identity theft and misuse of data.
  5. Reduce Physical ActivityPeople who spend too much time on social media end up not going out or not doing any physical activities like playing outdoor games, exercising, or doing yoga.

Weak Real-Life RelationshipAlthough social media is good for long-distance communication through online platforms or even worldwide interaction with people, it reduces face-to-face communication. Most of the people spend more time than they spend time with family. It weakens their relationship.

So, social media is useful if we use it in a balanced way, neither less nor too much.
