World of Automobiles: Electric cars sector is gaining momentum. The government is also continuously encouraging the use of electric cars. A data throw has revealed that electric cars sales in India will increase by more than 50% from 2022 to 2023. The reason for this is that very few moving components are used in it. There is no engine, no piston, no crankshaft, no transmission etc. in it runs only on electric motor. There is no problem of trip and travel with petrol diesel vehicles because one can take the vehicle to any distance. But electric vehicles have a problem with longer trips because for longer trips one has to wait for 1 or 2 hours to charge the battery whereas it takes only a few minutes to fill the fuel. You can charge the electric cars even at your home because the company provides a portable charger or a box charger. The price of these is also charged to the customer at the time of purchase of the vehicle. These portable chargers come with a power adapter that you can connect to a domestic power outlet to charge the vehicle. Seeing the expansion of electric cars, the government is expanding the charging network, some private companies are also helping in this by building charging stations. Due to which the car battery gets charged from 0 to 80% in a short time.
To eliminate the problem of finding the charging point, Google also shows the charging point on the map of the fuel station and the car company has released an application which will let you show the charging point near the location through the application.
To promote the use of electric cars or to put the EV industry on its feet, the Central Government has launched the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicle Scheme. Its first phase has been completed, currently its second phase is going on. Recently the government has increased the amount in the second scheme from Rs 1500 crore to Rs 11500 crore. However, this scheme has been implemented till 31 March 2024.
