India’s First Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Passes Away

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passes away on Thursday, December 26 at the All India Institute of Medical Science. He was India’s first Prime Minister. AIIMS bulletin said that due toa  critical health condition, Manmohan Singh was admitted to the emergency department of AIIMS in the capital Delhi around 8 pm and declared dead at 9.51 pm. It has not been disclosed yet why he had to be hospitalized but he was already treated for age-related medical issues. On December 26, he had an unexpected loss of consciousness at his home and was admitted to the hospital.

As India’s first Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh was well known as the clergyman of economic form in India. As a Prime Minister, he served India from 2004 till 2014 but was seen as a frail leader by many parties, including his and the Indian National Congress. Manmohan also served as the finance minister in 1991 and was considered the key to India’s economic liberalization.

Many people paid tribute to Manmohan Singh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Manmohan by writing on social media that India mourns the loss of its most renowned leaders. The vision of Manmohan Singh was not just economic growth but also inclusive growth such as the Right to Food, the Right to Education, the Right to Work, and the Right to Information.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was praised by the Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for his long and esteemed parliamentary career. Manmohan Singh retired from the Rajya Sabha in April 2024. he was also known for his morality and humility.

India’s former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was born in Gah in undivided Punjab on September 26, 1932. Moreover, Singh was a very mild-mannered and soft-spoken person. He has completed a master’s degree at the University of Cambridge and PhD in economics from Oxford. When he gets knowledge in economics, Singh perceives a way to suppress poverty in the vast nation.
