This Year 50 new medical colleges will open, and 8,195 MBBS seats will increase.

Now medical seats in India will become 1,07,658. This year there will be an increase of 8,195 seats. It is a matter of great joy for a medical student. With this, medical students can make their careers very well in the medical line.

Ministry of Health NDTV has received information from sources that 50 new medical colleges will be opened in the country this year. Of these colleges, 30 will be government and 20 will be private. With the opening of these colleges, the number of seats for admission to UG medical courses in the country will increase. Medical seats in India will become 1 lakh 7 thousand 658. At present, there are 702 medical colleges in India. 

NMC Canceled the Recognition of 40 Colleges

NMC has canceled the recognition of 40 colleges this year. The UG Board of the National Medical Commission has recognized the medical college for five years. After this action, till now the appeals of a total of 20 medical colleges have gone to the Medical Board. 

And 6 appeals have come to the Union Health Ministry. After the appeal before NMC, the second appeal comes to the Health Ministry. At the same time, the Medical Commission has also ordered to reduce the seats of 9 medical colleges. There has been talk of a reduction in seats after a shortage was found in the college. 

Government in Mission Mode Regarding Cataract Surgery

The Health Ministry has claimed that the government is working in mission mode regarding the backlog of cataract surgeries. 83 lakh surgeries have been performed since January this year. Let us tell you that every year 60 to 65 lakh cataract operations are done. There was a lot of backlog due to Covid. 

Cataract operation was not done for two years. There was a backlog of about 1.25 crore cataract surgeries, for this campaign was conducted from 17 to 31 January and 75 lakh surgeries were done and so far about 83 lakh 44 thousand cataract surgeries have been done.
